Spain’s Policía Nacional has chosen the Springfield Armory Echelon 4.0FC as the issued pistol for its uniformed officers. Springfield Armory and HS Produkt introduced the striker-fired, fully ambidextrous 9mm model in 2023, and the National Tactical Officers Association awarded it a Gold ranking.

An evaluation team selected the high-capacity compact variant after it met or exceeded criteria in shooting, accuracy, obstruction, environmental durability, drop, and parts-interchange tests. Owner Dennis Reese and HS Produkt CEO Zeljko Pavlin stated the decision honors years of development and positions the Echelon as a leading duty option for government agencies.
