Whoopi Goldberg halted boos from the studio audience on Wednesday after naming Senator Ted Cruz as an upcoming guest on ABC’s The View. She had identified Cruz among speakers at that night’s inaugural Republican midterm convention, alongside Vice President JD Vance and Health Secretary RFK Jr.

Goldberg stressed that the program, established by Barbara Walters, invites people for discussion regardless of agreement and called for respectful engagement.

She observed that numerous Republicans, including candidates in pivotal states, intended to skip the convention and inquired whether it would boost Republican voter energy. Alyssa Farah Griffin said no Republican operative she had privately consulted viewed the event as anything but a waste of time and money.
