The House Judiciary Subcommittee on Oversight meets Tuesday, September 15, to review voter fraud after thousands of noncitizens showed up on New Jersey rolls.

In July the Justice Department said it had identified more than 6,000 noncitizens registered in the state and launched an inquiry. Governor Mikie Sherril, a Democrat, did not contest those listings and blamed a computer error.

That July President Donald Trump also reported more than 250,000 noncitizens registered in four Democratic states and warned the figure could climb because those states withheld voter records from his administration. On Monday the Supreme Court stopped White House rules meant to tighten Postal Service handling of mail ballots, a step the president strongly condemned.
