Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida spoke Monday on CNN News Central after co-host Kate Bolduan asked about AIPAC help in this election cycle.
Wasserman Schultz opposed targeting donors who give according to their own priorities and said she accepts backing from people with varied views. After visiting homes and phoning voters across her district she found affordability is their main worry as they struggle. She said the Trump administration awards tax cuts to the wealthy while enriching the president and his relatives, so that issue should stay central.
Democrats will keep that emphasis through the fall races so Hakeem Jeffries of New York can become House speaker and work to cut everyday costs.
