Van Jones told Kaitlan Collins on CNN Thursday that President Donald Trump missed the national mood. Collins had asked whether Trump’s morning comments at the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial were fitting after he praised troops working to keep Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

Collins also noted Trump had again posted a January 6 clip in which he told people at the Capitol to leave, expressed affection, and called them special. Jones said the choice puzzled him on a day meant to honor those who served in 2001 rather than people he called traitors for attacking the Capitol. He added that he doubted anyone had woken up wanting to discuss January 6.
