President Donald Trump on Monday posted the first photograph of the completed heliport on the White House South Lawn through Truth Social. He said the privately financed granite pad finished early and for less than the planned amount of up to six million dollars.

Trump had announced the project in July to protect the lawn from damage by newer, more powerful Marine One helicopters. The landing zone includes a carved granite White House seal and is ready for Chinese President Xi Jinping’s arrival on September 24.
