Tim Ryan said Sherrod Brown raised Ohio data centers against Jon Husted at the campaign outset. Husted ran state economic development as lieutenant governor and drew the facilities with tax credits plus other incentives. Ryan said Brown tied Husted to that record so tightly that Husted has had trouble breaking free.

Elizabeth Vargas asked why the centers stand out when many union members welcome the employment they create. Ryan said the projects supply substantial work and construction trades want to erect them even as the subject grew unexpectedly prominent for voters.
