On Wednesday Democratic Representative Nancy Pelosi of California spoke on CNN The Lead and praised President Barack Obama for securing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action with Iran as an outstanding diplomatic success.

She said the United States is at war and that citizens should always support the nation. She urged that the matter be finished and noted the president had predicted only a few weeks, which she said showed he lacked understanding.

Pelosi said the conflict could have been fully prevented because the earlier pact had halted Iranian nuclear work and met every American objective until a later leader ended it. She said the current president has not stopped Iranian nuclear weapons development despite claiming he would, that troops face danger, and that the war burdens the country while service members risk their lives.
