Former Senator Claire McCaskill appeared Monday on MS NOW Deadline and argued that Donald Trump embodies socialism more than any previous president.

She cited his moves to seize American companies, obtain ownership shares in them, and enlarge federal authority over state and local governments. McCaskill said those steps align with socialist ideas more than the records of most Democratic candidates. She observed that Trump calls himself a free-market capitalist who refuses to shield industries or tolerate monopolies, yet she added that he has gutted the Justice Department office charged with breaking up corporate monopolies.

McCaskill treated Google’s swift renaming of Lake Ontario as proof that Google, Amazon, and similar giants now shape everyday life.
