Representative Mike Lawler of New York told MS NOW on Wednesday that rapid turnover among senior Pentagon officials concerns him and that the armed forces require steady command while a Middle East war continues.

He aligned with House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers of Alabama and Representative Don Bacon of Nebraska, who object to the volume of dismissals, including the exit of former Army Secretary Dan Driscoll.

Lawler said clashes among top defense officials happen routinely and can prove useful, yet vacant posts should be filled promptly. He urged Pete Hegseth to explain the personnel decisions and the steps being taken to keep command consistent, and he said President Donald Trump should speak on the matter as well. Lawler also sought an account of the dispute between Driscoll and Hegseth.
