Vice President JD Vance told a Republican midterm convention crowd that extreme Democratic candidates belong in psychiatric care rather than Congress. He said the prior four years left workers with lower pay, prices up 20 percent, and thousands of illegal crossings, leaving the nation poorer and less secure.

Vance said Democrats then refused to change course and instead nominated people who openly dislike the country after moderates lost primaries. He said their familiar demands still include cutting police funding and ending border enforcement, now driven by deeper hostility.

He cited Manhattan hopefuls who seek to erase Western culture and who praised recent killings of Jewish civilians, Lansing figures who want to wreck American life, a Texas Senate candidate who talks constantly about six genders and a nonbinary God, Denver Democrats who treat the 2001 attacks as unavoidable, Michigan allies who say America invited those attacks, and New York lawmakers who recast Independence Day as Palestinian and Puerto Rican liberation.
