Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi marked the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday Tuesday by accusing Saudi Arabia of helping Israel and warning of more attacks on neighbors. Ansar Allah seized Sanaa in 2014 with Iranian support and still fights the Aden government that relies on Riyadh, recently restarting clashes after a lull while hitting ships in the Bab el-Mandeb.

He celebrated a July ban on Saudi ships in the strait and condemned Riyadh for admitting Israelis to Mecca and Medina. He called Saudi military steps against the Houthis U.S.-supervised and said they serve American and Israeli interests. Iranian outlets reported he accused Zionism of targeting Muslims for domination and occupation, affirmed loyalty to Iran, and pledged to match Saudi restrictions on Yemen with a blockade of Saudi Arabia.
