Ohio Republican Representative Michael Rulli told Fox Business on Friday that Beijing has used propaganda inside Ohio to fuel opposition to a $500 billion OpenAI and NVIDIA data center.

Rulli, a House Energy Committee member, said most people in his district reject such projects. He tells them to learn who pays for the power, whether cooling water stays on site, and to locate centers on former industrial land rather than farms or neighborhoods.

He said a House vote is possible after members return, that colleagues hear more about this than living costs, and that worries over heat, illness, homes, and crops must be met while artificial intelligence could aid cancer treatment, quantum work, cybersecurity, and drones. He argued China will prevail unless the United States improves.
