Former Trump administration counterterrorism coordinator Nathan Sales said Monday on NewsNation that the United States must better protect its aircraft. Speaking on Elizabeth Vargas Reports, he argued that an Iranian plot against American assets in the United Kingdom should prompt a response.

He cited Ukraine’s destruction or disablement of 41 Russian planes in Siberia and warned that Iran and China could do the same. Sales said parked U.S. aircraft need overhead protection so they stay ready for the president to use.
