Brazilian senator Flávio Bolsonaro, the conservative front-runner for president, said Wednesday that winning the office would lead him to pursue changes that require altering the constitution. He is scheduled to meet incumbent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in a runoff on Sunday, October 25.

He first raised the idea Tuesday at a campaign stop in Goiânia, Goiás, noting that his allies already hold majorities in both houses of Congress. Speaking to reporters the next morning, he specified that the measures would target the Supreme Federal Tribunal and other courts, along with possible updates to tax rules and a lower age of criminal responsibility.

He also said he would push to ban consecutive presidential terms, serve only once if elected, and use the early political capital of a new administration to advance that change as a personal example.
