A security analysis found the White House mobile application does not collect or send user location data, contrary to assertions by some Democratic figures that it includes undisclosed tracking.
NowSecure examined the software with static and dynamic tests and reported no unauthorized location activity. The application rose to the top of the news section in the App Store after the administration started round-the-clock video streaming on the app and YouTube following restrictions on several news organizations in the briefing room.
Those organizations filed a lawsuit after being barred on September 18, and a judge ordered their access restored while the case continues. Television pool members paused coverage in support.
