Exclusive–SSA Chief Credits Working Families Tax Cut for ‘Largest’ Refunds Ever

Listen to Article

Frank Bisignano, who heads both the Social Security Administration and the Internal Revenue Service, told Matthew Boyle on Breitbart News Saturday that the Working Families Tax Cut Act produced the highest total refund sums on record while collections also rose.

Treasury numbers from the filing season put the typical refund above 3400 dollars, 11 percent higher than a year earlier, with more than 53 million returns using at least one tax cut tied to President Donald Trump. Bisignano said nine in ten refunds reached accounts in under 21 days, a quicker pace than before, and his March testimony put average direct-deposit timing at nine days after filing.

He linked the statute to more new firms and innovation visible in IRS records and said administration steps would leave a larger economy and more cash for households through lasting investments. The remarks followed a September 8 Breitbart News State of the Economy event where Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent cited record refunds and more business starts, as the administration highlighted economic results before the November midterms.
