Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced Tuesday at a Breitbart News policy event in Washington that the Trump administration has sanctioned an Iranian airline and will sanction another bank this week.

He told Matthew Boyle and John Carney that President Trump has pressed for stronger measures and has contacted nations that still offered financial channels to Iran. Officials closed a Dubai branch of Egypts second largest bank two weeks earlier after 1.8 billion dollars reached the Iranian government over two years, and they shut a Turkish bank as well.

Bessent said British coverage showed two London penthouses believed to belong to Irans supreme leader listed for auction over the weekend. He added that a blockade now stops all goods from entering or leaving Iran and that Iranian leaders have not yet grasped that their position is finished.
