Republican candidate Dan Green told Breitbart News Daily that Florida Democrat Soto would serve as support for Democratic socialists in Congress. Green is challenging the incumbent in the Ninth District, a seat Republicans view as a realistic gain that could help enlarge their House majority.

Green said Soto opposed ending taxes on tips, overtime pay, and Social Security benefits, which he presented as grounds for replacing the incumbent. He also said Soto voted against requiring parental consent before minors undergo transgender medical procedures.

Green cited high grocery, gasoline, and property insurance costs and argued that Congress should shrink government’s reach so residents keep more of their pay for everyday expenses.
