Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed addressed voter worries about antisemitism during a Friday appearance on MS NOW’s The Moment. He told host Katy Tur that opposing Israeli policy differs from hostility toward Jewish people or their faith, and that he will speak Sunday to Michigan’s Jewish Democratic Caucus at its Summer Simcha gathering.

El-Sayed said a costly primary featuring heavy spending by AIPAC and other groups is over, and Democrats should now unite against Donald Trump and Senate candidate Mike Rogers. He noted Trump has stirred hatred toward Jews, Muslims, Black Americans and core national principles, while a Rogers campaign figure appeared with January 6 convict Jake Lang shortly before Nazi and KKK leaflets circulated in the state.

He added that policy disputes involving a distant nation should not prevent Michigan Democrats from tackling problems at home, and he looks forward to meeting Jewish constituents for the second time this cycle.
