Journalist Don Lemon appeared Thursday on the MS NOW program The Weeknight and described the Trump administration’s pressure on critics as a slide into one-person rule.

Co-host Eugene Daniels framed the pattern as a coordinated government campaign to limit expression, coming from a political side that once demanded unlimited talking rights and opposed silencing. He asked Lemon, given his historical study, what that meant for the country and how citizens could respond.

Lemon tied the pattern to concentrated power, saying the president sees himself as always right and rejects any negative remarks about himself or his team. Lemon named the November 2026 and 2028 elections as the remedy and urged journalists who support press liberty to stay firm without fear.
