DNC Chair Ken Martin spoke Wednesday on CNN Inside Politics after Kasie Hunt asked whether backing Democratic Socialists of America winners in strongly Democratic locales would help Democrats secure majorities.

Martin described the party as including conservative Democrats, centrists, progressives, new Democrats and leftists. He said every variety is needed for victories nationwide.

He listed shared goals of putting more money in pockets, reaching healthcare for all, cutting housing costs, making groceries affordable, ensuring a living wage and dignified retirement. He called those core party values that outweigh internal differences from the left to the right of the party.
