Senator Angela Alsobrooks of Maryland, a Democrat, said Friday that ending the war in Iran is the president’s responsibility.

On the MS NOW program The Beat, host Ari Melber asked how Democrats would stop the fighting if they win in November. Alsobrooks replied that the president must supply the answer after starting the conflict without strategy, a plan, or any exit approach.

She said she has voted roughly a dozen times to halt the war, so lawmakers have already completed their role. The president has continued anyway, meaning he and colleagues in the House and Senate must now withdraw from an involvement they should never have begun and ensure those votes take effect.
