Democratic Representative LaMonica McIver of New Jersey appeared Friday on the MS NOW program The Weeknight and called the Trump administration extremely racist and bigoted.

She told co-host Eugene Daniels that the criminal justice system has long treated people unfairly and that she now faces that treatment herself. McIver, a young Black woman from Newark, said Black women have repeatedly carried such struggles in the United States and that officials believed they could break her.

She said the administration has gone after many Black women and selected her after she arrived at Delaney Hall to exercise the authority voters gave her, which she said upset them.
