On Friday, Representative Jason Crow of Colorado told CNN News Central that Hasan Piker could possibly assist certain Democratic House candidates. Crow, who oversees battleground states for House Democrats, said each candidate decides who campaigns alongside them.

He explained that competitive House contests turn on district problems such as lead in school water, farm irrigation, and bridges needing repair, not on events in New York City or coastal regions. Crow tells candidates he mentors to welcome only those whose visits aid the campaign more than the visitor and to decline even his own appearance if it would not help.

House races stay local across 435 districts of about 800,000 residents each, and Crow wants officeholders who govern with steady attention on those communities.
