California Democratic Representative Ami Bera said Wednesday on Bloomberg that Senate Democrats are blocking a data-center electricity bill for political reasons. The House approved the Ratepayer Protection Act 417 to 3, with three Democrats voting no.
Forty-two Senate Democrats have opposed advancing the measure, so it is expected to fail on the floor. Bera called the bill worthwhile as an initial effort. He would ignore politics, pass it, and send it to the president, saying it is not a complete answer.
