Defense attorney Kevin Reddington told CBS This Morning on Wednesday that he would consider a plea agreement for Lindsay Clancy yet would refuse any outcome that sent her to prison. Clancy is charged with killing her three children by strangulation, and a judge declared a mistrial last week.

Reddington said Plymouth District Attorney Tim Cruz would control any deal, which might include reducing the charge to second-degree murder, addressing a mental-health element, or choosing whether to use a jury. Asked what arrangement he preferred, he answered that his own wishes were irrelevant and that he would never accept incarceration for her.
