On Tuesday, Democratic strategist James Carville told MS NOW host Ari Melber that Democrats will raise corporate taxes after taking power.

Melber noted that wages rose about 10 percent but inflation offset those gains while corporate profits jumped over two years. Carville said the public is right that technology has lifted profits while reducing the need to hire or pay workers much. He argued the tax code should capture more of those earnings and use the revenue to help people who lack better pay or jobs.

He blamed earlier Republican tax cuts under Trump for write-offs and other breaks, and said companies will face higher rates, fewer loopholes, and a reckoning on April 15, with the extra money redirected domestically.
