A 31-year-old British woman died Sunday after a knife attack at the train station in Rosenheim, in southern Germany. Federal officers who responded arrested a 27-year-old German man from Fürstenfeldbruck county immediately afterward.

Rosenheim police said she was taken to a hospital close by and died of her wounds. They have not named her or the suspect, following German privacy rules, and are still examining what occurred and why.

Police asked anyone who saw a dispute or fight at the station late Saturday or early Sunday to come forward.
