Texas Republican Representative Brandon Gill appeared Wednesday on Fox News Channel program The Will Cain Show and discussed a Department of Justice review that may look at Minnesota Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar’s immigration standing. He told host Will Cain that her history as an immigrant merited examination.

Cain asked how Gill would answer those who call such a review or questions about Somalia racist. Gill said the left still deploys the racism charge too freely. He maintained that inquiring about a nation’s legal order, its level of graft, or whether it lets residents thrive does not constitute racism, and neither does raising a person’s immigration standing or manner of arrival when the issues have a sound basis.
