Austin will host a CAIR Austin chapter program titled Jesus Was a Migrant next week at the city Asian American Resource Center. A 1500 dollar grant from the We All Belong sponsorship, drawn from a 150000 dollar city council budget, covers the programming. City public information specialist Natalie Hulsey said the gathering is part of that initiative on belonging, diversity, and bias.

Governor Greg Abbott designated national CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood as foreign terrorist and transnational criminal organizations. Attorney General Ken Paxton then sought to bar those groups and the Austin, Houston, and Dallas-Fort Worth chapters from operating in Texas.
