A Saint David, Arizona, resident killed a man by gunfire Sunday morning after glass shattered at the house. He inspected his security setup, spotted a person outdoors, walked toward that section of the dwelling, and saw a figure at a window who appeared to be forcing entry, then fired.

Cochise County deputies found the man on the ground outside the window and later confirmed he had died. The resident told them he had been carrying a gun and hit the person trying to get inside. Relatives, among them two young children, were home and unhurt.
