Joshua Feemster, 33, a theater teacher at Huntsville Academy for Academics and Arts Middle School, resigned after his arrest this month on a charge of electronic solicitation of a child. Huntsville police ran an online investigation in which he expected to meet a 10-year-old; an undercover officer handled the meeting. The district put him on leave after the arrest, set his resignation for September 30, and barred him from every city campus.

He is free on a $15,000 bond and has a court date later this month. He had led the school arts program, which the Educational Theatre Association named a Premiere Community for Theatre Education in 2023, the first such program in Alabama among few elementary and middle schools.
