Sunny Hostin told viewers of ABC’s The View on Friday that Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands should receive voting seats in the House so lawmakers can more closely watch the executive branch.

She recalled that the House was limited to 435 members in the 1920s and said adding those three jurisdictions would introduce six additional members. Hostin cited an Atlantic article on possible reforms and objected to early clemency for participants in the January 6 Capitol events, while faulting both the president and Congress.

Sara Haines said the clemency power should stay because it has released people convicted in error, including Alice Johnson.
