New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani issued remarks for the third anniversary of the Hamas assault on Israel. He denounced Hamas and expressed sorrow for those slain and seized. He then alleged Israel was carrying out genocide, occupation, and apartheid in Gaza.

Governor Kathy Hochul and Senator Chuck Schumer instead highlighted the killing of Jews and Hamas terrorism. A political battle around Mamdani is expanding as far-left activists press him, including Hasan Piker and Abdul El-Sayed.
